Lawyer – Family Law/Commercial Litigation

Sean joined the team in 2025 and leads the firm’s growing Family Law and Litigation department. Sean is a tenacious advocate that is committed to delivering results both in the courtroom and outside the courtroom. Prior to joining Vakili Law Group, Sean worked at a medium sized firm focused on family law matters. He has successfully argued complex matters at the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto and Newmarket.  His experience in family law includes resolving complex support obligations where income is in dispute, resolving complex property disputes where the owner of the property is not evident and challenging decision-making responsibility when children are involved.

Sean’s mild-mannered demeanor is often a source of calmness to his clients. His inquisitive nature ensures that no stone is unturned, and his methodical approach to litigation ensures all possible resolutions are explored before parties engage in costly litigation. This includes early-stage strategy discussions, evidence gathering guidance and providing candid advice in support of the desired outcome.  

Sean obtained his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall and was called to the bar in 2022. Sean excelled in his trial advocacy class during law school, which culminated in a mock trial at the Ontario Court of Appeal. This experience helped solidify Sean’s interest in litigation work. Sean also holds a master’s degree in English from Carleton University and prior to becoming a lawyer he worked as an Associate Professor at Algonquin College.
